The author of this publication shows a picture of Prague from the time, when the Jagellons and first Habsbourgs ruled from the Czech throne. Since the last third of the 15th century and during the 16th century the towns of Prague started to change their medieval character towards renaissance at their own pace. The Prague Castle grounds also saw significant changes, with the addition of the Ball Game Hall and the Royal Summer Palace in the Royal Garden. After the introducotry historical part, the reader is taken on a tour with informed commentaries about the renaissance development of the Czech metropolis. Aside from documentary pictures and photos of exteriors, the text is accompanied by maps with a locale index and a personal index. The title includes aproximately 100 pictures.
